Morning Dog Show on the River

Golden morning |

A lot of stuff to see |
"I was up at daybreak taking the clothes down to the washroom. As I glanced up and saw the breaking sky, I made a quick decision to head to the river with my camera to try to capture a mood of the slow Sun coming up in the East. Bayard Wooten, situated in her home on East Front Street, would have seen this same sun break most every morning of her life. As I turned the curve by Bayard's homeplace (the Louisiana House) I figured I would be the first and only early riser there, but as the bright river came into view from around the curve, I realized just how wrong I was! It looked like the New Bern Dog Show coming down the sidewalks on the banks of the river! Man (woman) and animal alike were strutting and happy. As if in fantasy I saw the most elegant white poodle prancing by the River Side. She must have been misplaced here from a foreign Palace-- she was that beautiful."
