Visions of Ocracoke

The ferry ride from Cedar Island to Ocracoke takes two hours and is a hot time when the sun beats down! After your arrival to the Ocracoke side, it dawns on you pretty quickly that there are only two really important things that feel of urgency on Ocracoke Island:

A cool spot under a shade tree &

A back porch where you can sit down to a cool drink of water.

Luckily, neither of these two important accommodations are difficult to discover in Ocracoke Village--even on a Sunday.

During the morning ride on the ferry, the waters of the Pamlico Sound take on a murky green cast. During the evening, on the return crossing to home, the color of the waters seem to make a funny switch to deep blue!
