It is a mystery as to why Sgt. William Ennever of the 158 New York Volunteers is buried in the Ellis family plot in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Only one of 2 Union Soldiers buried in Cedar Grove, Ennever was laid to rest among the Confederate families and military after suffering mortal injuries in an explosion on May 26, 1864 at Batchelor's Creek.
Here are some photographs taken from the Memorial Service held yesterday, June 18, 2016.
..
This was a very interesting event to happen to stumble upon as I was driving by Cedar Grove Cemetery on Saturday. I met a lot of interesting people here.
